About This Opportunity

Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Southern Ontario Facilities Maintenance & Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing all HVAC equipment within Department of National Defense facilities to achieve optimum life span of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly preventative maintenance as directed by the supervisor, including site inspections, responding to emergency trouble calls, and supporting mechanical maintenance duties.
  • Support additional work requests, including small projects, and coordinate minor repairs.
  • Utilize CMMS to demonstrate and document work performed on building assets and service to tenants.
  • Order and maintain supply inventory, oversee repair and maintenance tasks performed by sub-trades, and perform various cleaning tasks as agreed upon.
  • Ensure maximum operation of equipment, inspect/operate/maintain, and minor repairs for mechanical/electrical systems and equipment.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, and BAS.
  • 2-3 years' facilities maintenance and operations experience, with strong technical capabilities in building systems and equipment.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to follow instructions both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, and maintain a valid G license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and/or working at heights, and maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees and customers.
