**Where does the **_**Maintenance Technician**_ **fit in?**

The purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to provide maintenance & cleaning support in Axiom’s plastic injection molding facility. The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for preventative maintenance activities, including but not limited to, cleaning and lubing injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to manufactures specifications as well as maintenance and automation of robots. You will also be required to clean/maintain the plant floor facilities and equipment.

**What you can expect as our next Maintenance Technician**:

- Clean and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, etc.), Clean up spills with appropriate equipment when required.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities and record information as required. This includes cleaning and lubing injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to manufactures specifications as well as maintenance and automation of robots
- Comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces
- Assist / conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment and in facility as required
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action
- Performs general plant maintenance, including checking and replacing faulty lighting throughout the facility, and basic plumbing repairs
- Painting, cleaning and assembly of miscellaneous items / equipment as required
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices, Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Ensure compliance / enforcement of Axiom Plastics plant standards Performs all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health and safety rules and regulations
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
- Maybe required to assist other departments

- Mechanically inclined and good aptitude, highly focused and driven to learn
- Self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Time management skills
- Task oriented and highly focused. Must be able to take direction
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work, Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, able to read and write in English
- Must have basic computer and calculator proficiency
- Must be punctual, reliable and good work ethic.
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices
- Fork lift license and overhead crane certification is an asset
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs waist high, be able to reach, bend, stoop & climb
