About the Role

MFS Investment Management is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Managing Director, Institutional Sales. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in driving business growth and expansion in the Canadian market.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement sales strategies that align with MFS' company strategy, monitoring industry trends and identifying opportunities to drive business growth.

  2. Build and maintain a portfolio of opportunities with institutional clients, including pension funds, endowments, and foundations, and work closely with the global consultant team to market MFS' institutional products.

  3. Work closely with the Platform and Relationship Management teams to execute the DC strategy in Canada and collaborate on cross-sell opportunities.

  4. Establish long-term brand building initiatives that help anchor the name awareness of MFS in its core distribution channels in the region.

  5. Participate and represent MFS in industry forums and events, and maintain a high level of product expertise for both MFS and non-MFS products.

  6. Contribute to the management of the business by participating in projects, committees, and informal groups, and assume additional duties as requested.

Requirements

  1. 12-15+ years of industry and related experience, with extensive business development experience of investment management services to institutions based in the local region.

  2. A passion for the investment management business, with demonstrable knowledge of investment markets and investment management services, and a thorough understanding of equity and fixed income instruments and investment strategies.

  3. Collaborative team player with an evident track record of successful collaboration with both colleagues and clients/prospects, and excellent verbal presentation skills and written communication skills.

  4. Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task, use CRM systems, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities and contacts.

  5. Creative thinker, with the ability to work independently, and a Bachelor's Degree required, with Level 1 CFA or CIM required, and CFA preferred.

  6. Extensive travel required, and Advising Representative registration preferred.
