Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at MacKay Animal Hospital in Whitby, ON. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our clients and their pets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery.
  • Conduct physical examinations, patient assessments, and venipuncture procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Provide compassionate care and support to hospitalized patients and their owners.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously, including patient care, administrative tasks, and communication with clients and veterinarians.
  • Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication and teamwork.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary techniques and best practices.

Requirements

  • Completion of a veterinary technician program and eligibility to register in Ontario.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
  • Knowledge of veterinary software and medical equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
