This role is crucial for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of extensive multi-phase IT projects and programs, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within financial constraints, and according to defined specifications. The Project Manager will define project requirements and scope, allocate resources, and lead the project team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cost-benefit analyses, risk assessments, and ROI evaluations to assess project viability
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of the project portfolio, from strategic planning to operational execution
- Design and manage the deployment of new system installations, upgrades, modifications, and migrations
- Create a project charter for each sanctioned project, outlining goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing needs, roles, responsibilities, milestones, and deliverables
- Develop comprehensive project timelines, milestones, requirements, and work breakdown structures utilizing appropriate project management tools and methodologies
- Follow established project management practices and methodologies
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to budget; seek additional funding when necessary through formal change requests
- Supervise the performance and billing of external vendors, including consultants and contractors
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify improvement opportunities and provide recommendations
- Organize project teams into effective workgroups and guide them in delivering results as per specifications
- Collaborate with other departments to secure necessary skill sets
- Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated tasks; develop contingency plans to mitigate risks
- Implement and maintain a formal change management process
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather feedback, input, and expectations
- Work with HR to determine optimal training methods and address user compliance issues
- Establish and maintain systems for tracking project progress and reporting
- Generate regular updates on project status; present findings during stakeholder meetings
- Ensure compliance with all internal and external security and privacy standards prior to project execution
- Coordinate with IT management to ensure infrastructure resources meet projected demands
- Assess the performance of computer systems and networks in relation to application requirements
- Participate in evaluations of hardware and software as needed
- Stay informed on industry trends and provide insights to senior management
- Perform additional duties as assigned
