Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Applications Analyst to join our team at Hydro One Networks Inc. As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be responsible for performing payroll system processing services, validating data, testing system updates, and ensuring payroll processing jobs/interfaces are completed on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Process payroll activities in accordance with payroll processing procedures, collective agreements, HR policies, and internal controls to ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of data.
  • Data Analysis: Develop and prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any escalated requests from Payroll Specialist or Payroll Supervisor, and develop and prepare reports to assist the Payroll Supervisor with payroll processing.
  • Payroll Operations Technology: Act as a technical Payroll Operations subject matter expert for the organization and as a key point of contact for Payroll Operations related escalations, and provide feedback and recommendations on potential impacts of Payroll Operations changes on Technology and solutions to mitigate.
  • Process Optimization: Prepare internal and external reporting to meet regulatory and management reporting requirements, while assist in optimizing processes and identifying cost efficiencies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and participate in continuous improvement, identify possible trends, risks, and business improvements.
Requirements
  • Education: Requires a knowledge of accounting and payroll principles related to payroll processing and reporting system in order to reconcile differences, and a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation.
  • Experience: Demonstrated knowledge of computer operation and data processing to utilize system and computer application programs for the production of various accounting and payroll reports, and strong experience with SAP systems or SuccessFactors Employee Central and Service Now.
