York University is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join its School of Continuing Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of customer service in systems processes and information needs for the entire School. This includes the timely set up and maintenance of systems according to academic timetables, supporting critical operations such as student application, course registration, fees collection, recruitment, teaching and learning, etc. The Business Systems Analyst will also respond to ad-hoc requests from students, faculties, staff and other administrative partners for value-add business information, systems issues resolution, general systems guidance and other related tasks. Additionally, the Business Systems Analyst will actively participate in discussions related to systems improvement opportunities and the corresponding proposals for system enhancement projects. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in the maintenance and support of enterprise IT systems, including 1 year in a systems analyst capacity. They will also have demonstrated experience in supporting enterprise applications, documenting processes, creating process flow, testing, and using project and resource management tools. The successful candidate will have excellent communications, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities. They will also have experience working with Application programming interfaces and related technologies, knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, PHP, Java, and experience with Moodle, Salesforce/Dynamics, and Student Information System (such as Destiny One). The Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting business process changes within the various systems of the School to increase the efficiency and effectiveness in how to support teaching/learning and operation needs of the School. The ideal candidate will be able to liaise between business and IT in systems development and support, and will have demonstrated expertise in creating process flow, data flow and entity relationship diagrams using a Unified Modelling Language (UML) tool such as Visio.
