Site Health and Safety Manager

Black & McDonald is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees and contractors on health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with project managers and site managers to ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations.
- Provide technical advice and support to project managers and site managers on health, safety, and environmental matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a construction industry setting.
- Certified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
