About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Slipacoff Dental Centre. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and ensure they are comfortable and relaxed throughout the process.
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient clinic.
  • Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory, including scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials to ensure they are clean and ready for use.
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure the clinic is well-stocked and efficient.
  • Perform reception and clerical duties, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide guidance on how to maintain good oral health.
  • Polish teeth and clinical crowns and apply fluoride and sealant as needed.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
  • Perform intra-oral duties, including taking X-rays and recording dental procedures.
  • Take and develop X-rays to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Invoice patients for dental services rendered.
  • Polish and buff dentures to ensure they are clean and comfortable for patients.
  • Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations as needed.
  • Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts to aid in treatment planning.
Requirements
  • Certification by the National Dental Assisting Examining Board.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient work.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours to ensure accurate and efficient work.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure effective communication with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient clinic operation.
