Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Associate)

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario

Position: FULL TIME (Assistant Store Manager role)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively train team members to comprehend the policies and procedures while ensuring excellent communication with customers.
  2. Organize departmental schedules to align with business demands in the absence of the store manager.
  3. Address customer grievances in a professional and efficient manner.
  4. Adhere to all Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations within the store, ensuring compliance by all staff.
  5. Inspire and train team members to excel in their roles.
  6. Assign and prioritize tasks for team members to optimize workflow.
  7. Implement effective merchandising strategies for advertising and promotional initiatives.
  8. Set ambitious yet attainable sales targets.
  9. Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.
  10. Receive, store, and manage products to achieve efficient outcomes.
  11. Ensure proper product rotation as necessary.
  12. Provide appropriate signage for displays to boost sales and profits.
  13. Maintain pricing accuracy.
  14. Promote and uphold a consistently high standard of customer service.
  15. Take responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key holding and alarm management.
  16. Perform any additional duties required to ensure friendly service, competitively priced products, and adherence to hygiene standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in a grocery store setting is essential.
  2. Proven understanding of the critical success factors for a discount food store focused on low pricing.
  3. Knowledge of the produce department's influence on overall store performance, including:
  • Merchandising to meet established standards.
  • Maintaining and ordering appropriate inventory levels.
  • Verifying invoices for correct pricing.
  • Ensuring cleanliness to meet required standards.
Strong communication skills.Demonstrated customer-centric approach.Ability to lead and manage a team.Capable of working with minimal supervision.Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of produce operations and products.

What You Bring:

Availability and flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to lift up to 50lbs and maintain mobility throughout the shift.
