Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading assembly drawings and welding complex components, including pipes, according to specifications and production documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and production documents to ensure accurate welding of complex components.
  • Weld pipes and other metal components using various techniques, including SMAW, GMAW, SAW, and FCAW.
  • Operate oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding machines to produce high-quality welds.
  • Check and repair weld leaks according to specifications and established methods.
  • Occasionally mark, assemble, and tack components according to drawings or production documents.
  • Solder, grind, and mark copper foils inside tanks or other components.
  • Minimize distortion caused by soldering.
  • Solder and desolder current transformer components.
  • Complete check sheets and required documents.
Requirements
  • Diploma of vocational studies in welding or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in welding and metal fabrication.
  • Knowledge and ability to use oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding machines.

  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Health and safety oriented.
  • Autonomous and able to work independently.
