Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy Canada Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks, including reading assembly drawings, welding components, and checking for leaks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and weld components according to specifications.
  • Perform welding tasks using oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding techniques.
  • Check and repair weld leaks according to established methods.
  • Handle and assemble components using electric winch, forklift, and overhead crane.
  • Mark, assemble, and tack components according to drawings or production documents.
  • Solder, grind, and mark copper foils inside tanks or other components.
  • Minimize distortion caused by soldering.
  • Solder and desolder current transformer components.
  • Complete check sheets and required documents.
Requirements
  • Diploma of vocational studies in welding or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in welding or a related field.
  • Knowledge and ability to use oxy-acetylene equipment and electric arc welding techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication and health and safety skills.
  • Autonomous and responsible individual.
