Researcher - Generative AI

At Huawei Technologies Canada Co., Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of experienced researchers to tackle real-world challenges in Embodied AI.
  • Design and implement state-of-the-art approaches for Embodied AI applications, including generative AI, representation learning, and foundation models.
  • Translate mathematical problem definitions and model specifications into efficient executable code.
  • Conduct thorough evaluation and empirical studies using robotic platforms in both simulation and real-world environments.
  • Develop and propose high-impact intellectual properties, such as patents, and publish research papers in top-tier AI venues.

Requirements:

  • M.Sc./Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related fields (Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor's degree will be considered).
  • Proven experience with generative AI, particularly diffusion models, normalizing flows, or generative flow networks.
  • A strong research record in AI, with at least one paper as the first author in top-tier machine learning venues, such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language, with a focus on clean coding and building experimental settings.
  • Experience with mainstream deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience with robotic platforms for tasks like object manipulation and navigation is an asset.
  • Experience with large-language models and vision-language models is also an asset.
