Job Summary

As a key member of the Group Risk Management team at Royal Bank of Canada, the Associate Director, Regulatory, Governance & Issues Management will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's regulatory compliance and governance practices are aligned with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Process Execution
    • Develop and implement forward-looking plans to manage annual and ad-hoc regulatory requests, including identification of stakeholders and coordination of responses across the organization.
    • Create and maintain documentation to ensure regulatory requests are satisfied, and ensure consistency in response and messaging.
    • Work with project managers to execute action plans to remediate material risks and issues.
  • Reporting and Other Activities
    • Support internal processes, including the production of team reports.
    • Support the execution of short- and long-range projects affecting Group Risk Management or individual teams.
  • Relationship Management
    • Develop relationships and networks within Group Risk Management and Royal Bank of Canada to influence and impact processes to the benefit of the organization.
    • Act as a first point of contact, liaising and coordinating with other Group Risk Management groups as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Business Acumen
    • Business degree (B. Comm, MBA, CFA) or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Experience
    • Proven experience in project management, with a focus on regulatory compliance and governance.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
