Key Responsibilities:

As an Employee Relations Manager, you will play a crucial role in the success of the Employee Relations (ER) and Labour Relations (LR) strategies. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading investigations and resolving medium to high-risk ER/LR cases across various business lines and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Fostering a customer-centric culture to enhance client relationships and leverage the broader organizational knowledge and resources.
  • Providing expert guidance and coaching on employment-related matters to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners, ensuring alignment with established policies and regulations.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into serious misconduct allegations, collaborating with the Employment Law Group and Corporate Security as necessary.
  • Facilitating employee interviews and preparing comprehensive investigative reports, presenting findings to Senior Leadership to mitigate potential legal risks.
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners to plan and execute strategic initiatives that impact large employee populations, identifying trends and providing insights to enhance HR strategies.
  • Ensuring a seamless experience for employees and People Managers dealing with ER/LR issues, maintaining accurate records to support defensibility against potential litigation.
  • Understanding and integrating the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily operations, ensuring compliance with operational, regulatory, and conduct risks.
  • Contributing to a high-performance environment that attracts, retains, and develops talent while promoting an inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or college diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Employee Relations or Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in French is essential.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment and labour laws relevant to the supported countries.
  • Ability to interpret collective agreements on an international scale.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization and meeting deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
