Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Quality Specialist to support the identification, design, planning, execution, and evaluation of program-related improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will apply quality improvement, change management, operations research, and project management tools to drive continuous improvement in areas such as efficiency, effectiveness, workflow, continuity of care, safety, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate, educate, and coach individuals, improvement initiative teams, and program leadership on quality improvement methodologies and tools.
- Apply methods and tools such as project charters, process mapping, data collection and analysis, simulation, and report generation to drive improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and address quality improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement quality improvement projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Provide coaching and guidance to staff on quality improvement methodologies and tools.
- Masters degree in a related field, such as Industrial Engineering, Healthcare, Business, or Epidemiology.
- Education in process/quality improvement, certificate in quality improvement, or equivalent training in quality improvement methods and tools.
- Work experience in hospital settings and healthcare service delivery issues across the continuum of care.
- Experience in redesigning and optimizing processes, resource utilization, workflow, and patient/customer experience.
- Ability to access, synthesize, and leverage current knowledge to inform decisions and support change and improvement.
- Proficiency in data analysis, including statistical software packages and process design/improvement software.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills, with the ability to design and deliver effective presentations.
- Knowledge of effective change management strategies and proven success as a change agent.
