Position Summary:
The Injection/Infusion Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting the IAP within our dedicated infusion and injection facilities, taking charge of patient care in alignment with the IAP's practice areas, particularly in oncology, autoimmune disorders, and rare conditions. This position may involve working in outpatient environments or providing care in patients' homes. Effective communication and coordination are essential to ensure optimal service for patients, their families, and our healthcare partners. This role is vital in delivering ongoing education and support to both patients and healthcare professionals regarding treatment options and disease management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications via intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SC) routes.
- Assist and oversee the administration of intravenous (IV) infusion therapies within the clinic.
- Monitor and document post-infusion and injection care in accordance with established protocols and nursing documentation standards.
- Provide educational support to patients, either individually or in group settings, following program guidelines.
- Ensure consistent availability to accommodate appointment scheduling efficiently, facilitating prompt access to necessary treatments for patients.
- Collaborate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling teams, and other departments to meet deadlines for treatment planning and communication.
- Conduct administrative duties such as performing monthly clinical audits, managing supply orders, and other related tasks as required.
- Actively participate in telephonic consultations and online training sessions with management to share insights and uphold professional standards.
- Engage with healthcare providers and pharmaceutical representatives regarding the education and implementation of specific product initiatives.
- Comply with nursing care standards as dictated by professional organizations, regulatory authorities, and company policies.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as necessary.
