Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified HR Business Advisor to support our operations. This role will deliver comprehensive Human Resource assistance to our Canadian workforce, including Heli-One Canada and other designated client groups, while collaborating with the global HR team and Human Resource Centers of Excellence (COE).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR leadership and guidance to the business, addressing labor relations, employee engagement, communication, talent assessment, and organizational change.
- Collaborate with management to evaluate and refine strategies and organizational frameworks to enhance productivity and efficiency, offering insights on proposed changes and workforce planning.
- Facilitate and optimize HR processes within the organization, including performance evaluations, compensation planning, succession planning, and talent development.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence such as Compensation, Shared Services, and Staffing to align local practices with global standards, sharing best practices across the HR landscape.
- Proactively assess needs and recommend enhancements to improve people management practices.
- Assist in resolving employee relations matters, conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements affecting employee management, minimizing legal risks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate closely with management and staff to boost employee engagement, enhance workplace relationships, improve morale, and increase retention rates.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies.
- Deliver training sessions as necessary in conjunction with HR Centers of Excellence.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in an industrial setting such as service or manufacturing.
- Familiarity with various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, change management, and performance management.
- Experience in negotiating labor agreements and managing contract administration.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with HR stakeholders and business leaders, providing coaching to managers.
- Understanding of relevant employment and industrial relations legislation.
- Strong business acumen to effectively partner with client groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
- Proficient in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation, with a track record of successfully addressing performance and disciplinary matters.
