Community Engagement Role

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Community Engagement professional to coordinate community connections and volunteer events for our ministry unit. This role is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of volunteer services, working closely with managers and supervisors to identify volunteer needs, recruit, organize, and direct volunteers to our departments as needed.

As a key member of our team, you will develop and implement strategic initiatives that build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including public and private organizations, non-profits, and local communities. You will collaborate with a wide range of partners to create and implement action plans that support our organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate volunteer services, including recruitment, organization, and direction of volunteers to our departments.
  2. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  3. Collaborate with partners to create and implement action plans that support our organization's mission and goals.
  4. Work closely with managers and supervisors to identify volunteer needs and develop solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related field, or work equivalency.
  2. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  3. Minimum of 2 years' experience in human services or administration in a non-profit environment.
  4. Strong initiative and customer service orientation; recruitment; volunteer management skills an asset.
  5. Experience working within a social services environment is considered an asset.
