Job Summary:

Verve Senior Living is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Senior Care Specialist. As an LPN at Verve, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of individual residents and develop personalized care plans to promote maximum independence.
  • Participate in the pre-move-in and ongoing assessments of residents' health and wellness needs, making recommendations as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident care, including medication administration and treatment plans.
  • Supervise and guide care given by attendants or designated staff, ensuring adherence to resident care plans and policies.
  • Provide direct resident care, including distributing medications and administering treatments, as per current standards of care and policies.
  • Act as a leader and mentor to employees, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Maintain accurate records of nursing observations and procedures performed, completing all required reports.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff, recognizing and mitigating safety hazards.

Requirements:

  • Current LPN licensure in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Previous experience working as an LPN in a healthcare setting is considered an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, in the English language.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and evaluate resident care needs, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work well in a team environment and independently.
