Job Summary

The Program Assistant will perform administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy, supporting the Meals on Wheels program and delivering exceptional customer service to VON clients and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for daily functions associated with the Meals on Wheels program, including scheduling volunteers and clients, verifying meal/volunteer mileage reports, and on-boarding new clients.
  • Prepare hot and frozen meal orders, manage filing and records, and support front reception duties.
  • Work collaboratively with the Meals on Wheels team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer service.
  • Additional data entry and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Office Administration Diploma from a post-secondary institution required, plus a minimum of 3 years in an administrative office setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs and working knowledge of the client/staff database system, Procura.
  • Demonstrates professional manner, works collaboratively with colleagues, clients, families, and community partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics.
