In the capacity of Flight Centre Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective and efficient management of the Flight Centre, overseeing both personnel and fleet operations. Your role will involve a diverse array of responsibilities, including the establishment and enhancement of operational standards, setting strategic objectives for team growth, and spearheading various initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and operational performance.

Your position will also require you to coordinate activities across various functional teams to ensure a seamless client experience while addressing any safety concerns or operational discrepancies in collaboration with pertinent internal and external stakeholders.

To thrive in this role, you will need to possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities, along with the ability to perform well under pressure and collaborate effectively across different organizational levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee comprehensive management of the Flight Centre, including fleet and personnel oversight.
  • Enhance knowledge of aviation regulations and management practices, ensuring team compliance for operational safety, efficiency, and continuity.
  • Develop and refine operational standards, roles, SOPs, and protocols to guarantee exceptional service and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set both short- and long-term objectives for the continuous improvement of the Flight Centre.
  • Lead the execution of departmental projects, coordinating with internal and external partners to achieve high-quality results aligned with business goals.
  • Drive improvements in key performance indicators and conduct operational reviews to promote excellence.
  • Assist in the annual financial and budget review process as needed.
  • Prepare reports related to daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operations.
  • Implement emergency response protocols in the event of aircraft incidents.
  • Effectively manage direct reports, overseeing performance evaluations, succession planning, workforce management, and other HR initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to foster a highly engaged and high-performing team.
  • Own the training program to ensure performance management through training and KPIs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Identify, report, and address safety concerns, discrepancies, operational irregularities, and potential impacts on operations in collaboration with senior management.
  • Work with relevant internal and external departments to ensure the delivery of outstanding service.
  • Undertake additional projects to promote continuous improvement and evolution within the Flight Centre.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation management or a related field is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in flight management, dispatch, or coordination roles.
  • At least 5 years in a client-facing capacity.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven leadership, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive team culture aligned with organizational values.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capacity to excel in high-pressure environments and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Advanced proficiency in Flight Operation Systems (FOS), Online Tools, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, and MS365 Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Flexibility to provide support outside of regular business hours as required.
