Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Execute routine flight operations as a Flight Test Engineer on production aircraft.
  • Oversee test planning, readiness, and safety protocols for both production and experimental aircraft.
  • Work under the guidance of the Flight Operations Manager and Chief Pilot.
  • Collaborate with the Flight Test Engineering Team to ensure critical operational information is available for ongoing tests, including test limitations and special instructions.
  • Take charge of reviewing and approving Non-Conformity Reports and special instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with System Engineering, Methods Engineering, Flight Sciences, and Pre-Flight teams regarding test planning, status updates, and results.
  • Prepare test documentation and reports in line with Bombardier Flight Test Center standards.
  • Ensure aircraft configurations are suitable for testing, including components and instrumentation.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate reviews and briefings related to Test Readiness, Safety of Flight, and Test Hazard Analysis.
  • Draft Test Cards and Plans based on Test Definition Sheets.
  • Adhere to company, FAA, and Transport Canada regulations during testing, ensuring safety and risk management practices are followed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Bombardier Flight Test Center and other completion centers.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (P. Eng.) is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in Aerospace Engineering, particularly in Flight Test Engineering.
  • A Master's degree in Engineering/Aviation or graduation from a Test Pilot School is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Civil/Commercial aircraft certification Part 25 requirements.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems and the ability to interpret schematics.
  • Possession of a Private or Commercial Pilot's License.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Access).
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel to remote testing locations for varying durations, with a valid passport.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
