Product Development Industrial Designer Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Industrial Designer to join our team at LumenWerx. As an Industrial Designer - Product Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing new light fixtures or improving existing ones, working closely with our Product Development team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative product families of light fixtures that align with our brand and market positioning.
- Lead the complete product development cycle, from concept selection to commercialization, production setup, and project management.
- Construct three-dimensional CAD models in Solidworks and create drawings for mock-ups and prototypes.
- Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions and knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- Benchmark competitive products and help define key selling points.
- Support mass manufacturing setup and manage project scope, timeline, and budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from a recognized university.
- Expertise in Solidworks and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table.
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in the lighting industry (a strong asset).
- Knowledge of UL safety standards (a strong asset).
