Product Development Industrial Designer

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to join our Product Development team at Lumenwerx. As a Product Development Industrial Designer, you will be responsible for designing new light fixtures and improving existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop creative product families of light fixtures that fit our brand and market positioning
  • Lead the complete product development cycle, from concept selection to commercialization and production setup
  • Construct three-dimensional CAD models in Solidworks
  • Create drawings for fabrication of mock-ups and prototypes
  • Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions
  • Benchmark competitive products
  • Help define key selling points
  • Support mass manufacturing setup
  • Manage project scope, timeline, and budget

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from a recognized university
  • Expertise in Solidworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Full proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience in the lighting industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of UL safety standards is an asset
