Job Summary:

Shangri-La Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet & In-Room Dining Server to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Prepare and set up banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, and linens, to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Deliver exceptional service to guests, including serving food and beverages, attending to their needs, and ensuring their overall satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the Banquet & IRD Manager and other team members to ensure smooth event execution and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards and protocols.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings to review event details and ensure a thorough understanding of the day's events.
  • Assist with side work, including cleaning, stocking, and folding silverware, as needed.
  • Set up and tear down function rooms, including tables, chairs, and linens, in accordance with BEO requirements.
  • Ensure that meeting rooms are reset for the next event, if required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in banquets, room service, or restaurant service is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
  • Current Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certification is required.
