Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand BEOs or Event Plans to ensure banquet rooms are set according to customer requests.
  • Execute specifications listed on Banquet Event Orders, paying close attention to special needs and requests.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings to ensure events are on time and according to the banquet event course.
  • Prepare coffee breaks, carts, and stations with the right food and beverages as stated in Banquet Event Orders.
  • Maintain proper standards of service to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Have a good understanding and be able to communicate products and services to guests when required.
  • Deliver and serve welcome drinks, food, meals, condiments, and accompaniments.
  • Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, and dessert tables.
  • Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Monitor tableware to ensure it's presentable to guests.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned stations and service areas.
  • Attend tables by removing and separating tableware, plate ware, glassware, and flatware.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guests to Banquet Captain/Banquet Manager.
  • Assist others with side work, including cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
  • Set up/tear down function rooms in accordance with BEO requirements.
  • Ensure meeting rooms are re-set for the next event, if required.
Requirements:
  • Previous service knowledge and training is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in banquets, room service, or restaurant service is preferred.
  • Flexible availability - required to work days, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as required.
  • Current Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certification.
