Job Title: Platform Engineer

Job Summary:

OEC is seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable platform solutions to support our growing business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Develop Platform Infrastructure: Design, develop, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure and services to support our business needs.
  2. Implement Best Practices: Implement best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  3. Manage Cloud Environments: Manage and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure) to ensure high availability and cost-efficiency.
  4. Collaborate with Software Engineering Teams: Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate new services and optimize existing platform components.
  5. Develop CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  6. Monitor and Troubleshoot Platform Issues: Monitor and troubleshoot platform issues, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal impact on services.
  7. Implement Security Best Practices: Implement security best practices and conduct regular security assessments to protect platform infrastructure.
  8. Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve platform engineering practices.
  9. Provide Support and Training: Provide support and training to junior level team members and help with orientation and onboarding of newly hired team members.
Requirements:
  • At Least 3 Years of Software Development Experience: At least 3 years of software development experience with a proven track record of writing increasingly complex code and providing input into the design phase.
  • Strong Experience with Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in Scripting and Programming Languages: Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, Go).
  • Experience with Containerization Technologies: Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on Experience with CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Strong Understanding of Networking, Security, and System Administration: Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with Observability Tools: Familiarity with observability tools (Datadog).
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Solid Business Acumen and Product Knowledge: Solid business acumen and product knowledge.
  • Understanding of Architecture and Infrastructure: Understanding of architecture and infrastructure.
  • Ability to Complete Work and Troubleshoot: Ability to complete work and troubleshoot from team's board, regardless of technology stack.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, English speaker.
