Senior Estimator Job Description

As a Senior Estimator at Hall Constructors, you will play a crucial role in preparing and submitting estimates on behalf of the company. This position contributes to the overall organization by bidding on various types of work and handing over successful bids to the project team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit estimates on behalf of Hall Constructors
  • Bid on various types of work and hand over successful bids to the project team
  • Work closely with the estimating team, Chief Estimator, and VP of Estimating to deliver a competitive bid
  • Collaborate with other estimators and project coordinators to ensure successful project pursuit and acquisition
  • Manage all takeoffs for the estimate, including assigned interns or project coordinators
  • Read and understand contract documents and specifications
  • Communicate with clients and subcontractors about the estimate throughout the process
  • Attend all Estimator's meetings and on/off-site bid meetings
  • Mentor estimators and project coordinators
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education or applicable work experience
  • Considered an asset: past local civil construction experience, AutoCAD experience, BC Class 5 drivers' license
  • Advanced understanding of Programs/Software – HeavyBid and Heavy Job (HCSS)
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Project, MS Teams, etc.
