At Canna Cabana Waterloo, the role of the Retail Operations Supervisor is essential in providing a unique shopping atmosphere. This position primarily involves collaborating with the Store Manager and company leadership to oversee, maintain, and direct daily retail functions at the store.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist store management in overseeing and facilitating the daily activities of the retail location.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Store Manager during their absence.
  • Support key personnel management tasks, including interviews, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, when requested.
  • Offer direction, guidance, and training to all store associates as necessary.
  • Ensure that store conditions consistently meet established standards.
  • Help create weekly staffing schedules, ensuring that staffing levels meet business requirements, when requested.
  • Maintain constant communication with various departments to ensure proper information flow and clear expectations.
  • Welcome and assist customers in a manner that sets a positive example for other staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation by all staff members.
  • Address customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and security regulations, meeting required standards.
  • Oversee and assist with inventory management tasks.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school and vocational or technical training is required.
  • Proven service orientation is essential.
  • Valid Selling It Right certification is mandatory.
  • A clean Criminal Background Check must be provided prior to the start date.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the retail sector is required.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a retail environment is necessary.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and motivate team members is essential.
  • Skills to monitor and evaluate staff performance are necessary.
  • Basic office administration skills are required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity suite is necessary.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities are essential.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with individuals at all organizational levels are required.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy is essential.
  • Availability for shift work as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work nights and at various locations is required.
  • Exceptional teamwork and team-building skills are essential.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable health and safety legislation is necessary.
  • A professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
