The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is a government agency responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis in the province. As a Supervisor, you will play a key role in the management of a major retail operation, providing leadership and direction to achieve sales targets and ensure excellent customer service.

About the Role:
  • Assist in the management of a major retail operation, providing leadership and direction to achieve sales targets.
  • Provide excellent customer service and education to the public.
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational plans, developing annual store budgets, and controlling employment costs.
  • Contribute to establishing and improving the Cannabis Store image through the implementation and maintenance of policies.
  • Assume management of the store in the Store Manager's absence, including management of the store and the maximization of revenue through merchandising and customer relations.
Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and direction to achieve sales targets.
  • Customer service and education to the public.
  • Operational planning and budgeting.
  • Policy implementation and maintenance.
  • Store management and revenue maximization.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of recent experience* with 3 months as a supervisor, in a retail sales environment.
  • OR
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent, related experience* leading a team within a customer-facing service-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a government or regulatory environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience working in the cannabis industry.
  • Formal course work in cannabis from an accredited post-secondary institution.
