As SEA expands its operations in Canada, we are seeking exceptional individuals to become integral members of our Ottawa team.

In the role of Lead Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and support of our advanced products in Canada. Collaborating closely with our clients and system engineers in the UK, you will contribute to the design, development, verification, validation, testing, commissioning, and ongoing support of sophisticated naval systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design authorities and production engineering to formulate and execute plans for the manufacturing of advanced naval systems, ensuring their performance is validated and they are transitioned into service effectively.
  • Oversee the capture, analysis, traceability, configuration, and verification and validation of product requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to Business Development, including the creation of technical proposals and bids.
  • Coordinate and lead the execution of engineering work packages, including defining technical work packages and estimating resource efforts.
  • Define system architectures that will guide system design.
  • Conduct functional and non-functional system analyses.
  • Lead system integration verification and validation activities, managing issue resolution effectively.
  • Plan and monitor the progress of engineering assignments, adhering to agreed schedules, quality standards, and budget constraints in line with project and company processes.
  • Assist in evaluating and applying new technologies and methodologies to the design, development, and support of current and future products.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of advanced naval systems and the maritime sector.
  • Significant experience in the verification and validation of complex systems within defense environments.
  • Strong understanding of requirements capture with experience using DOORS for requirements management.
  • Ability to collaborate within multi-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capability to obtain a Canadian security clearance.
