Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer (System Engineering Analyst) who excels in evaluating electrical systems, ensuring smooth integration within the overall product while considering manufacturability and testability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting ongoing production, driving enhancements, ensuring compliance with requirements, conducting tests, managing data, updating product structures, and preparing reports.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of products and processes through Engineering Change Proposals while effectively managing projects.
  • Performing design, analysis, and testing functions with a focus on how designs integrate with the overall unit.
  • Efficiently analyzing and managing data, preparing reports, and summarizing findings.
  • Initiating and managing product changes through Change Requests (CR) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP).

Additionally, you will:

  • Develop test and debugging plans for electrical assemblies, emphasizing their integration with other system components.
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing and Quality regarding continuous improvement initiatives and production efficiencies.
  • Document analyses, designs, and tests, including technical notes, requirements specifications, design documents, test plans, test reports, and procedures.
  • Make direct observations and measurements, as well as collect and interpret data from other technical and operational staff involved.
  • Engage in LEAN practices, process capability studies, and the development and implementation of control plans, FMEAs, and 5S principles.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in preparing proposals and developing bid specifications for timely submissions.
  • Ensure the timely submission of drawings and documentation with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Manage projects related to product and process enhancements.

Continue to apply the principles of robust design and generate EDF artifacts under the guidance of a senior engineer.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.

Additional qualifications include:

  • High proficiency in computer applications such as MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of printed circuit board layout, power distribution, mechanical enclosures, stack-up, and manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles and an expanding knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in product and design of mechanical/electrical products.
  • Ability to research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident is required.

  • Experience in creating Statements of Work (SOW), Statements of Requirements (SOR), Engineering Job Analysis, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Experience in Quality Control and metrics.
