Responsibilities:

Deliver a minimum of one digital story daily, which includes researching, reporting, interviewing, writing, fact-checking, and packaging. Create digital stories with a focus on mobile-first strategies, enhancing audience engagement through relevant videos, audio, and photo galleries. Propose stories that align with our mission to attract new audiences. Respond promptly to breaking news and contribute to live story pages. Collaborate with senior producers to refine story focus and structure. Work closely with editors to enhance headlines and text. Seek out and engage a diverse range of sources.

Qualifications:

At least five years of recent experience in a digital news setting. Strong journalistic skills and a solid background in writing, researching, fact-checking, and packaging digital news content. Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations in journalism. Cultural awareness and sensitivity. Open-minded approach. Excellent news judgment and ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines. Proven track record of filing same-day stories. Experience with live blogs is a plus. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with text and video content management systems. Knowledge of style guidelines is beneficial. Experience in Search Engine Optimization and Social Media Optimization. University degree or equivalent.
