About Us

Morrison Hershfield, a leading provider of engineering and consulting services, is seeking a highly experienced Code Consultant to join our team. As a Code Consultant, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients' projects meet the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply building and fire codes to new building designs, as well as to existing buildings and renovations, to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Review work prepared by others for typical projects and provide technical mentorship to a growing team of Code Consultants.
  • Prepare code reports and other technical communication for more complicated projects, utilizing strong technical skills and knowledge of building and fire codes.
  • Support internal and external clients by advising on the application of codes and standards, providing expert guidance and recommendations.
  • Coordinate project teams, including other staff, contractors, and technical disciplines, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Investigate, advise, and solve unusual design and code problems, utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prepare project proposals and liaise with clients to understand their needs and identify new opportunities for code consulting services.
  • Identify new clients and opportunities to expand code consulting services, leveraging business development skills and expertise.
  • Manage projects and serve as the primary client contact, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of code consulting experience.
  • Ability to conduct business development and communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building and fire codes, with Ontario and National Code knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities, and contractors.
