About the Role:

Morrison Hershfield, now Stantec, is seeking a highly experienced Code Consultant to join our team. As a Code Consultant, you will be responsible for applying Building and Fire Codes to new building designs, as well as to existing buildings and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply Building and Fire Codes to new building designs and existing buildings and renovations.
  • Prepare Code reports and other technical communication.
  • Support internal and external clients by advising on application of Codes and standards.
  • Coordinate project teams, including other staff, contractors, and technical disciplines, for successful project delivery.
  • Investigate, advise, and solve unusual design and Code problems.
  • Prepare project proposals and liaise with clients to understand their needs and identify new opportunities.
  • Manage projects and serve as the primary client contact.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
  • Minimum 6 years of Code consulting experience.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of Building and Fire Codes and related standards, with Ontario and National Code knowledge preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities, and contractors.
