We are seeking a dedicated Community Health Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)
Vancouver Coastal Health is in search of a Registered Nurse to enhance the Home Support team. This role is essential in delivering comprehensive health services to the community.
Role Responsibilities
As a Community Health Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to deliver a full spectrum of public health, preventive care, and health promotion services. Your efforts will focus on improving the health, well-being, and safety of clients by:
- Identifying and prioritizing health needs.
- Establishing and nurturing community partnerships.
- Providing health promotion, advocacy, counseling, education, assessment, referral, and intervention in various community settings.

The community served is characterized by its stunning natural surroundings and a close-knit population. The local health facility is equipped with essential services, including acute care, long-term care, and emergency services, ensuring comprehensive healthcare delivery.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Specialized training in public health nursing or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- A valid BC Driver's License is necessary, as local travel is part of the role.
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of public health nursing principles within a primary health care framework.
- Familiarity with BCCNM standards for nursing practice.
- Understanding of evidence-based practices related to youth health.
- Proven ability to provide effective counseling to clients and families.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of immunization protocols.
- Proficiency in utilizing computerized client care systems.
- Ability to critically analyze and apply current health research in practice.
- Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively, making informed nursing decisions.
- Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.

Work hours, including days off and specific work areas, may be adjusted based on operational needs. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
