Custodial Services Associate

As a vital member of our Accommodations team, you will consistently deliver top-notch customer service while representing Sodexo. The Custodial Services Associate may be assigned to various locations within client facilities. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the premises. Below are the primary responsibilities associated with this position, although additional tasks may be assigned by Sodexo.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all cleaning tasks with a service-oriented approach towards colleagues, client personnel, and visitors.
- Engage effectively with facility staff, residents, or guests.
- Carry out basic cleaning duties in designated areas according to established schedules and methods.
- Dust all horizontal surfaces.
- Empty waste receptacles and recycling bins, remove waste, and replace liners.
- Wipe down and clean all furniture.
- Clean and shine metal and porcelain fixtures in restrooms.
- Spot clean walls and windows as necessary.
- Polish metal surfaces.
- Restock room supplies.
- Vacuum designated areas.
- Perform discharge cleaning duties when required.
- Change linens and transport them to the appropriate area.
- Conduct more intensive cleaning tasks in assigned areas following established schedules and procedures.
- Dust and wet mop floors. Scrub or buff floors using the appropriate equipment. Vacuum and shampoo carpets for effective cleaning and bacterial control. Strip and refinish hard surface floors.
- Dispose of biohazard and chemical waste according to prescribed methods.
- Clean light fixtures and fittings.
- Measure and mix cleaning chemicals as needed.
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean condition and recommend repairs when necessary.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
- Damp dust equipment at the end of the shift or as required to maintain a clean working environment.
- Ensure sinks and counters are kept clean and disinfected.
- Report any equipment issues to the Manager or Supervisor.
- Follow and execute tasks outlined in the Duty List.
- Consistently maintain a safe working environment (e.g., using wet floor signage).
- Responsible for performing duties according to safe work practices by:
- Learning the safe methods for job performance and seeking guidance when uncertain.
- Executing each task safely using provided equipment, following instructions and established procedures.
- Reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions to management immediately.
- Supporting the Safety Program within the unit.
- Any additional duties as requested by your supervisor.
- Minimum education level: Grade 10.
- Building Services Certificate preferred.
- Proven experience in Customer Service.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, to ensure safe job performance.
- Pass a physical examination as required by the client.
- Clearance for a Criminal Record Check.
- After initial training, demonstrate the ability to utilize supplies, tools, and equipment effectively.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours, and perform lifting, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching tasks.
