Job Summary

The Galley Transport Specialist is responsible for transporting galleys to clients' specifications for all scheduled flights. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and strip commissary according to airline specifications and schedules within established timelines

• Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) and actively report hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations

• Complete inventories according to airline requirements and understand and comply with Canada Border Services Agency Memorandum D7-1-1 & D4-1-4

• Understand and comply with Transport Canada requirements and IATA Food Safety requirements

• Maintain the safety and security of the warehouse at all times and assist in set up, cleaning, and storage of equipment and warehouse

• Handle food and goods with care, including loading and offloading, and receive, perform temperature testing, and inspection of catering deliveries from our food service provider

• Operate forklifts while observing safe procedures and maintenance of equipment, including the performance of equipment checks

• Comply with all company and airline policies and transport, load, and unload aircraft galleys from the warehouse to the aircraft

• Communicate with other catering personnel and airline communication centers as required and coordinate and oversee aircraft turnaround activities

• Ensure processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements and maintain the safety and security of all employees

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license

• Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada and obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances

• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 70lbs on a regular basis and work within the required time parameters

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules and successfully complete airline-specific training programs and recertification

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines and maintain attention to detail in all areas of work

• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude and ability to maintain a clean driver's abstract and open availability
