Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join our Specialty Pharmacy team in Burnaby, BC. This is a full-time opportunity that requires prior experience in specialty pharmacy, but we are open to candidates with relevant skills and qualifications.
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and safety of prescription dispensing while providing pharmaceutical patient care. You will work under the general direction of the Designated Pharmacy Manager and will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in dispensing of prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data, and clinical reviews.
- Ensure the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed.
- Provide professional functions related to dispensing, including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, and liaising with other healthcare professionals.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in training new staff.
- Provide supervision and leadership in the dispensary while on duty.
- Occasionally support offsite treatment centers with witness ingestion activities.
Requirements
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists.
- Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience.
- Experience in a Long Term Care pharmacy environment is preferred.
- Experience with Kroll is an asset.
