Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacist to join our team as an Evening and Weekend On-Call support Pharmacist. This role will involve receiving calls from nursing homes, supporting with clinical and operational activities, completing data entry, and coordinating with other team members as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in phone support for nursing customers, responding to emergency requests and questions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, clinical question management, and logistical coordination.
- Support with data entry as needed.
- Provide professional functions related to dispensing, including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, professional opinions, liaising with other healthcare professionals, and documenting interventions and dialogue.
- Assist other team members with order clarification and acquiring verbal prescriptions as directed.
- Write emergency medication supplies as required.
Requirements
- Must be licensed and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists, adhering to the Standards of Practice.
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience preferred.
- Experience in a Long-Term Care pharmacy environment is preferred.
- Experience with Kroll is a requirement.
- Experience with Kroll LTC modules is an asset. Experience with eMAR is an asset.
- Experience troubleshooting basic prescription and delivery questions is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
- Permits/Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in British Columbia.
- Computer-Kroll, patient care, and member service skills are required.
