About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at Telesat Canada. As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for automating various Lightspeed features, enhancing our automation for regression testing, and ensuring seamless system integration and testing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Automation of Regression Testing: Develop and implement automation scripts using Python, pytest, and Robot framework to ensure efficient regression testing.
  • Automation of Framework and Tools: Automate the framework needed to collect results, present reports, and enhance our automation capabilities.
  • Automation of DevOps: Automate CI/CD/CT processes to streamline our development and deployment pipeline.
  • Automation of Test Equipment: Automate various IP and RF test equipment to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of automation experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Python skills, experience with various Python packages, and a strong understanding of Linux.
  • Industry Experience: At least 2 years of experience in the Telecom industry, with a strong understanding of test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong documentation skills, ability to work in a fast-paced complex/dynamic environment, and a highly collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Experience: Experience with various traffic generators like Ixia, Spirent, and Agile (SAFE) development methodologies.
  • Automation Expertise: Ability to automate with APIs or using the Front End (GUIs).
