Project Director - Civil Infrastructure

Aecon is seeking a seasoned Project Director with expertise in Civil Infrastructure to lead the Urban Transportations Solutions group for the ONxpress GO Rail Expansion project. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects that aim to enhance travel experiences and improve transportation efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage construction project activities, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Establish and monitor project budgets, making informed decisions to optimize resource allocation.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Chair project meetings to facilitate open communication, ensure best outcomes, and drive project success.
  • Oversee quality, safety, and testing protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage client and vendor relationships, building trust and credibility through exceptional communication and project management skills.
  • Drive an inclusive culture that promotes career progression, diversity, and equity.

Requirements:

  • Education in engineering or construction management, with a strong foundation in project management principles.
  • 5-10 years of experience in civil construction, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of the rail industry is a significant asset, but not a requirement.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software, with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies.
