Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Management Office professional to join our team at Citi Canada Technology Services ULC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a large multi-faceted portfolio and driving business results through effective project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a large portfolio of projects and teams, leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the team.
  • Organize solutions to new challenges and drive business results using best practice PMO methodology.
  • Drive end results through management of portfolio deliverables, meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit clear and concise activity/progress reports.
  • Assess portfolio risk potentials and identify potential problems before they occur.
  • Apply a proactive approach in tracking portfolio progress against project goals.
  • Define, teach, and enforce good project management practices.
  • Identify and amend the approach to the context and constraints of each project.
  • Constantly improve skills through lessons-learned reviews throughout the portfolio lifecycle.
  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming.
  • Articulate problems, bring the right people together to solve problems, and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed.
  • Promote partner involvement through effectively communicating project status upward and to the client.
  • Apply lessons learned from recent projects to future projects.
  • Proactively follow escalation and change control processes.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of project management experience, preferably from a financial services environment and/or portfolio management experience.
  • Possesses knowledge of PPM tools, such as Clarity or Oracle PeopleSoft.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Excel, PPT, SharePoint, and MS Project.
  • Ability to manage individual and team goals while adhering to multiple deadlines.
  • Knowledge of portfolio and project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.
  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time, and risk.
  • Manage client expectations, anticipate operational and tactical risks, and track them.
