About the Role

Aecon is seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team in supporting the delivery of our projects. As a key member of our project control team, you will be responsible for providing cost control support to ongoing projects and collaborating with our estimating and construction teams to ensure the effective implementation and utilization of our project control system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to project teams for project control activities, including estimating, proposal, cost systems, change management, schedule review, project reporting, and related processes.
  • Develop and maintain a change log to track all internal and external changes and monitor progress through the change management process.
  • Act as a single point of contact for all project changes.
  • Coordinate with the planning/scheduling and cost team when preparing Project Baseline Change Requests (PBCR).
  • Learn and operate within project-specific contract conditions.
  • Participate in customer and internal management project status reporting meetings, as required.
  • Aid cost control and project accounting groups as required.
  • Other assignments as required by the direct line manager.
  • Develop reporting documentation as required for internal Joint Venture communications.
  • Interface between the project controls team and the engineering/construction team.
  • Coordinate and implement project communications initiatives as identified by the project team.
  • Active involvement in all engineering, procurement, quality, and construction matters for greater understanding of the project status.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of related experience is preferred.
  • College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient written (report writing) communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
  • Intermediate to expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge.
  • Detail oriented & customer focus.
  • OPG Clearance.
  • Due to the nature of work conducted by DNNP, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.
