Job Summary:The Charge Nurse will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring that all residents receive high-quality care and services. This includes assessing resident health needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supportive and person-centered care to residents, promoting their physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Participate in care plan development and implementation, ensuring that residents receive individualized care that meets their unique needs.
- Lead and supervise a team of nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that residents receive high-quality care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- Monitor and report any changes in resident health status, ensuring that all necessary interventions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of resident care, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that residents receive high-quality care and services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance resident care.
- 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with a focus on gerontology and long-term care.
- Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and healthcare practices, including courses or experience in geriatrics.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificates.
- WHMIS training.
- Occupational Health and Safety Committee Training.
- Vulnerable sector clearance certificate.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently.
