Collaborate with Service Advisors to understand work orders and customer service requirements. Conduct operational inspections, road tests, and utilize diagnostic tools to identify and isolate faults in automotive systems. Repair, adjust, or replace components of diesel systems, including fuel systems, brakes, steering, suspension, engines, drive trains, emission controls, cooling systems, and electrical systems using specialized tools. Assess and modify repaired systems to meet manufacturer performance specifications. Perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups. Provide insights to customers and/or Service Advisors regarding work completed, overall vehicle condition, and future maintenance needs. Inspect and evaluate mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems to identify issues. Diagnose mechanical faults and confirm findings with supervisors to determine repair or replacement needs. Utilize hand and power tools to repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test and calibrate units to ensure they meet performance standards.Required Qualifications
Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Certificate in accordance with industry standards, 310T or willingness to accept 310J. Proven ability to work independently. Intermediate skills in drivability diagnostics. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Strong communication abilities. Effective problem-solving skills for both independent and team-based work.
