Diesel Mechanic Specialist – Tirecraft

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Service Advisors to gather work orders and specific customer service requirements. Conduct operational inspections, road tests, and utilize diagnostic tools to identify and isolate issues. Repair, adjust, or replace components of diesel systems including fuel systems, brakes, steering, suspension, engines, and electrical systems using hand tools and specialized equipment. Assess and modify repaired systems to meet manufacturer performance standards. Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrication, and tune-ups. Provide insights to customers and/or Service Advisors regarding work completed, vehicle condition, and future maintenance needs. Inspect and evaluate mechanical units like engines, transmissions, and brake systems to identify faults. Diagnose issues and confirm findings with supervisors to decide on repairs or replacements. Execute repairs or replacements of mechanical units or components using appropriate tools. Test and calibrate units to ensure they meet performance specifications.

Required Qualifications

Diesel Service Technician Apprenticeship Certificate or equivalent certification. Ability to work independently and consistently. Proficient in drivability diagnostics. Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record. Strong communication skills. Problem-solving abilities to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
