About the Opportunity

We are a forward-thinking firm that prides itself on innovation and excellence in the field of structural engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of high-calibre professionals who are passionate about redefining the way buildings are conceived and constructed.

We are seeking a talented Junior Structural Designer to join our Ottawa office and be part of our structural engineering team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to complex projects on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and detail structural elements, including calculations, computer modelling, and analysis.
  • Produce engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
  • Assist with contract administrative duties, such as shop drawing review, review of change orders, review progress billings, answering RFI's, issuing Site Instructions and Structural Design Notices, and attending site meetings.
  • Implement and adhere to Entuitive's quality assurance programs to ensure that services meet Entuitive's standards and our client's expectations.
Requirements
  • An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering.
  • Contract administration and site inspection experience is considered an asset.
  • A working knowledge and ability to use programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word and Excel, and structural analysis software (SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels, including project stakeholders and clients.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle on a regular basis.
