Position Overview
The role entails overseeing existing business operations and spearheading new initiatives across Canada. The incumbent will be responsible for advocating key service offerings, formulating commercial strategies, devising business plans, and achieving sales objectives. Leadership responsibilities include guiding business development efforts, managing proposals, and overseeing contract negotiations in collaboration with Quanta Technology's technical and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze market segments and territories in Canada that align with Quanta Technology's offerings.
- Conduct market research to define strategies, assess competitors, and identify market trends and gaps.
- Collaborate with leadership and business units to meet organizational targets.
- Develop prospect lists, sales strategies, and customer account plans.
- Formulate and execute business development and account management strategies focused on the Canadian market.
- Maintain and enhance account management plans for key clients in Canada.
- Continuously refine business strategies for Canada and support the overall business strategy of Quanta Technology.
- Proactively identify and engage potential customers, initiating discussions to arrange introductory meetings with technical teams.
- Pursue business opportunities for Quanta Technology and its affiliated services.
- Facilitate follow-ups with clients to support business leads and proposals.
- Manage master service agreements and contracts for Canadian clientele.
- Provide leadership in business development, proposal management, and contract cycles.
- Present Quanta Technology's capabilities and service offerings to clients.
- Establish trust and confidence with clients through effective relationship management.
- Support marketing initiatives, trade shows, conferences, and client presentations as necessary.
- Leverage synergies and resources within Quanta Services.
- Adhere to Quanta Technology's strategic vision and operational processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay informed on technological advancements in the electric power utility sector.
- Advise operational teams on proposal preparations.
- Understand client needs and identify the appropriate operational team for proposal leadership.
- Assist in proposal development based on operational requirements.
- Engage in regular follow-ups on proposals during monthly operational meetings.
- Conduct post-proposal reviews with clients to gather insights and competitive intelligence.
- Maintain comprehensive records of sales activities, client interactions, and market insights.
- Monitor account health through participation in key project reviews.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior management.
- Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded, acting as an advocate when necessary.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the utility or commercial sectors, with a blend of technology, business development, consulting, and utility roles.
- A robust network of relationships with electric power utilities in Canada.
- A strong sales orientation with proven negotiation and closing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to prospective clients.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, execution, sales, marketing, and business development.
- Experience in establishing new market segments for successful organizations.
- Goal-oriented with a track record of achieving or surpassing business objectives.

- Willingness to travel regularly to meet with clients, aiming for 2-3 visits per week.

This position will be based in Canada, with opportunities for hybrid work arrangements that blend in-office and remote work.
